This is an exceptionally unique coffee. These beans can be traced back to their respective microlots, ensuring that we know where these high-quality offerings come from. 260 farmers belong to this cooperative and the beans all come from heirloom trees on homestead farms. The farmers work hard to ensure shade techniques that are safe and sustainable, and also give their workers a fair wage. When you buy this coffee, you can feel good about getting the best of the best, and also giving the best back to the earth and the people that worked hard to provide it. In this bag, you will detect a little bit of sweetness and fruity aromatics, combined with a smooth, nutty malt finish. Truly a terrific coffee that stands out from the crowd. If you like a great cup of coffee without too much “foofoo”, this is the one for you.
A long time since we have seen Terruno Nayarita run a peaberry screen. A lovely cup, most Mexican coffee producers do not screen the peaberries making this a little more exotic of an offering.
This is a farm that holds a special place in our hearts. Gathered around an extinct volcano, Cerro San Juan, a committed group of 260 cooperative coffee farmers are working together to produce arguably the best coffee in Mexico. Terruño Nayarita coffees come from heirloom trees. The word ‘Terruño’ means ‘homestead’. These are farmers that take great pride in their coffee.
